Lab. of Tumor Microenvironment
Tumors are composed of not only cancer cells but also other cells including endothelial cells and immune cells. These cells co-operate each other to survive creating an unique tumor microenvironment. This is the main reason why many of anticancer therapies fail in human while they are so effective killing cancer cells in the tissue culture conditions. We’re investigating the metabolism and adaptation of cancer cells, endothelial cells, and immune cells and how we can exploit these features to increase therapeutic efficacy of anticancer therapies.
